This adapter is used for transitioning from a 20 mm threaded male fitting (MPT) to 1/2" schedule 40 or 80 PVC pipe. Common applications are connecting PVC pipe to protein skimmers and pumps with metric threads. (NOTE: both schedule 40 and 80 PVC pipe are nominally 1/2" and the outside diameter is about 7/8").
